“Nozarashi Gosuke” (1885, Meiji 18) by Toyohara Kunichika (1835–1900). Kunichika was the foremost yakusha-e artist of the Meiji period, renowned for his detailed brushwork and rich palette in depicting kabuki actors. This work is a triptych joined into a single piece, with exceptional compositional balance and colour harmony throughout.
